The Tree House

Less than a week before abi moved to our house, we were doing some chores at Abi's crib. We were sorting things that would be bring to Damansara as Abi agreed to moved to our house. We asked Abi to stay with us as his diabetes is getting worse and needed extra attentions. Here, me and my husband could always took care of him as both of us work in our own company. So there is no problem of not going to office as we are the main man,lol... Labeling, packaging and arranging the items is one of my favorite part so does little aishah, kiddo enjoyed helping her grandpa. While packaging some of the old albums,  Aisha accidentally pull out a piece of picture. A picture of me, abi and ummi sat on a balcony of a tree house. At first she seems a bit confuse. Her forehead frowned as she stared at the picture. Then  she ran towards her grandpa and asked, "is that you grandpa?" with a crystal eyes. She inherited those chocolate eyes from me obviously..lol.

Abi looked a bit shocked before smiling while his hand reach for Aishah's head.He rubs Aishah's head smoothly before grinning towards me. "Do you want to listen to a beautiful story?" ask him slowly to little Aishah. Past memory began to flash on my head as Aisha jump unto her grandpa lap and hold the picture on her tiny munchkin fingers.

About 40 years ago, there is a guy who love to read and write. According to Stereotype, guys does not write especially on feelings and emotions, but for him it is some kind of therapy. A kind of way to express himself. The guy is a student at a university just outskirt of  Kuala Lumpur. He was taking engineering course but for him engineering was never his passion, he loves biology more than mathematics. But he did not hesitate nor sulking over it. He pulled himself together and pass the course barely. And the interesting part about this lucky guy, he falls in love with a girl that he never met before. But he knows his heart were unto her. Abi's opening was a bit fast and simple i guess for little Aishah."Boys will always be boys, daa~" I mumbled, hubby is busy loading bags of clothes into the car.

"How come he loves someone if he never met him grandpa?" asked Aishah. Abi turns his gaze right to Aishah's face. You could see all those wrinkles around his face after he passed his sixties. Physically it may change, but the calmness that comes with his gaze never dissappears. "Li taskunu ilaiha".
When you see his face, your heart becomes ease, serene.

"Sometimes, you follow your heart more than your brain. The feelings is so strong that you could not ignore it".. He take a deep breath before continuing, "eee cucu abi ni,,listen first honey, i know it's a little bit confusing. nanti Ecah fahamlah, ok?
little Aishah nodded.

Carry on, the guy went to a forum at Putrajaya back then,"do you know where Putrajaya is Aishah?" asked Abi. "A place where you could see Monument alaf baru that was inspired by Tun Dr Mahathir, our 4th prime minister!.."The one who asked is the one who answered,lol...Abi loves to share about histories, just like when he told me the story about how Tasik Dayang Bunting got its name when I was in my thirteen."Abi,,Aishah is still young lah,dia mana kenal Dr Mahathir,," I sneaked into the conversation. He just laughed and continues his story.

So during the event, the guy met various type of people from different background. It was actually a religious talk, that gathers audiences from all over of Malaysia. And here, is where all of it began. As the guy was strolling down the hall, greetings others and exchanging smiles, suddenly he was mesmerized by a girl. Her gaze and smiles brighten the whole room. Peoples around her seems happy and energetic. That was the time the guy decide that she is the one. He does not think it is just a short term attraction or something else. Because she has been wandering in his head for 2 months since the event have ended. Thank god he knows the girl name. So he did a little research on it and at least he managed to know where she studied.

Half a year after the guy graduated and fully employed, he began his first step. By approaching the girl colleagues and stalking her on social media,lol.. to know her status. She has a strong character and independent. Also, she is a celebrity or more to an icon of change. Of hijrah from a good person to a better person.

"So did the guy get her? did they get married grandpa? " little aisha asked inpatiently. Abi smile as he always does, and then he nooded with a big smile that he used to. At first it was a really huge task for the guy to approach the girl. Could you imagine, you never met him before, you never know him, you never heard anything about him and plus you dont even know if he exist or not!.So how on earth can a girl accepted a guy, a total stranger proposal was quite amazing. Daa~ actually it was planned. A smooth plan and well organised by the guy to approached the girl. Beginning from forming a bonding with her friends and then with her parents, everything was planned. The guy also did acted as a newspaper distributor jual surat khabar atas motor just to get along with the girl father. Because he knows the girl's father loves to read newspaper in the morning outside of his banglo. This is what we called as a plan, a man with vision.ceh.

"They did get married, and they lived happily. There is their their little princess" he pointed to me. I was sinked in emotions. Mixed between memories and reality. Abi must be longing for ummi presence, poor Abi. He did not get the chance to say goodbye to ummi. Abi was at Dubai when she left us, in a time that we needed her the most. In a time when abi and ummi were still in their middle years of marriage. And the only thing that left apart from memories of ummi in Abi's heart was this tree house. This tree house carries a big emotions and feelings to abi. Why so? because it was always ummi's dream to live in a tree house. Since knowing her dream from her colleague, abi has started to earn money and find a suitable place to built the tree house. But he never told ummi untill the 4th year of their marriage. The grand surprise that had been prepared 6 years earlier. I was still a child back then, but i remember how ummi love to sings and walk around the tree house.I missed ummi,so much.
